Growing areal: From the far west of the Gulf of Guinea to Mozambique and the Great Lakes region.
Environment: It grows in tropical primary and secondary forests in mixedformations.
Trunk; logs and tissues: The trees can reaches the considerable height of 50 meters. In diameter, at breast height, they can reach 2 meters. The trunks are rather straight and regular, and are present calcareous concretions.
